About this vaccine
Vaccine that protects against typhoid fever caused by Salmonella Typhi. Common option is injectable Vi polysaccharide vaccine (e.g. Typhim Vi – single dose). Provides moderate protection for travellers to endemic areas.

Why doctors recommend this
One injectable dose at least 2 weeks before travel; booster every 2–3 years if still at risk. Not a substitute for food and water hygiene.
